Announcing the 2012-2013
Komen New Orleans Grants
Komen has awarded $425,000 to fund local
breast cancer screenings, treatment & education programs.
1) LSUHSC School of Public Health-
Provide funding for Advanced Practice Nurse and Diagnostic Care.
2) St. Thomas Community Health Center-
Provide funding for screening mammography & ultrasounds.
3) West Jefferson Medical Center Women's Imaging & Breast Care Center-
Provide for patient care costs, screening & diagnostic mammograms.
4) West Jefferson Medical Center Outpatient Rehabilitation Dept-
Provide help with compression funds for materials &
education/reference materials; compression pumps.
5) St. Charles Community Health Center, Inc.
Provide for patient care costs-screening & diagnostic mammograms,
clinical breast exams.
6) Mary Byrd Perkins at St. Tammany Parish Hospital Cancer Program-
Provide mobile mammography screening & fuel.
7) Thomas/McMahan Cancer Foundation-
Provide lymphedema patient care costs.
8) Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans (CAGNO)-
Provide qualified breast cancer patients financial assistance with medications, medical bills, ins. premiums, COBRA fees, co-pays
and breast cancer related medical bills.
