Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is a volunteer driven organization dedicated to eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease by advancing research, education, screening and treatment. Volunteers carry the powerful message of the Foundation and its work to their communities. With training, a volunteer can become a representative of the organization. In many ways, volunteers are just as important to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® as donations of money. Volunteers enable the organization to strengthen existing programs, add new programs, procure funds and resources, add specialized skills and talents and increase public awareness of services.
